In 1999 Law Enforcement Officers, particularly Crisis/ Hostage Negotiators recognized the need for quality training for negotiators and founded the Rocky Mountain Hostage Negotiators Association in June of 2000. The mission statement for R.M.H.N. has been adopted as, To provide quality, ongoing training for Crisis/Hostage Negotiators.
The association is recognized by the State of Colorado as a 501 (C) (3) non-profit organization. Members of R.M.H.N. are professionals who volunteer their time and expertise to assure that quality negotiator training is available in the Rocky Mountain region. R.M.H.N. is based in the Denver Metropolitan area of Colorado but membership to the association is available to any Law Enforcement Agency or Law Enforcement personnel who are interested.
R.M.H.N provides quarterly training for it’s members. Some of the training that has been presented by R.M.H.N includes:
